Total South Africa
Bumper ripped off by a neglegant petrol attendant

Over a year ago, around midday, I went to the Petro Port (North) to fill up on petrol. I parked next to an available fill up point. I was assisted by a male attendant who filled the required amount of petrol and processed my payment that I made using my debit card. Whilst waiting for the payment to go through, another petrol attendant who was assisting a customer 3 stalls away, stretched the pipe used to fill air in tyres under my car. When I pulled off the pipe hooked onto my bumper ripping it off. I heard a bang and looked in the rear view mirror and asked the petrol attendant who assisted me what was wrong and he shook his head and said nothing. That evening when I got home, I noticed my bumper was hanging. I returned to the petrol station the next day and reported it to the owner Ahmed Paruk. They pulled video footage of the incident and identified the petrol attendant. The one who assisted me was seen shaking his head in the video and then telling me there was nothing wrong. I submitted 3 quotations over a year ago from panel beaters. I have been moved from post to pillar ever since and I'm still driving around with a hanging bumper a year later.
