Regardless how i drive, i cannot achieve better than 8.8 L / 100km. When my car was at 3000km's, i took it to my Nissan dealer and was informed that the engine will loosen over time and the L/ km's would improve. I drive 80% open road and 20% town, so traffic is not an issue
Yesterday, i took my "guzzler" in for its first service. (15, 000km) I asked them to check the fuel economy as it had not improved. I was told that i should drive it on ECO. They must think that i am a that i would not have tried all modes and driving styles
My car is advertised that i should achieve 6L/100km's. I understand that this was at ideal conditions. I would be happy if my Juke ran at 7L/100km's. Close to 9 is insane
To make matter worse, my frien in JHB is achieving 7.2L/100km's. That is in JHB traffic and running it on Sports mode. 7.5 if he uses his AC. The only difference between the 2 cars is that his is white. Go Figure. Maybe i got a Monday or Friday car
I have been onto the UK websites and checked to see if they are having similar issues. They are, this is not isolated to us in SA
At least i can warn others of this issue. I plan to be very vocal until this issue is resolved
