Quest Meters unfair and undisclosed pricing model

I find it very it disturbing that while I spent most of my time at work, and take necessary precaution to use water and electricity wisely my bill is very high and amounts to that of a household consisting of around 6 people.

For a period of 2July- 1August 2013 my water/electricity bill is R1242.33. It takes 10 minutes to take a shower and there's no-one at the apartment during the day.

I find this statement not reflective of the real rates applicable to a one-bedroom apartment, which brings me to the conclusion that rates brought forward are purely speculative, distorted and charged at the description of Quest Meters and not consumption patterns of the unit.

When I enquired about the charging process/billing formula in which Quest Meters uses to have reached this figure I was told;

"We are only working according to the meter readings and cant say why it is the amount that it is. If you pay a call out fee of R250.00 upfront we can send someone to show you your meter. You can also pay a R20.00 every month then we can send you a photo of the meter reading. Remember there is a tariff increase from this month on."

I'm astonished at this "ingenuity."
