Nissan South Africa
NISSAN WARRANTY NOT WORTH THE PAPER WRITTEN ON

My mother took her Nissan NP200 to a Nissan Dealership in East London, Vincent today as the car had a mechanical defect. My mother is a pensioner (65 years old) and stays in Idutywa which is some 200 km away from East London. As the car is still under factory warranty (less than 50 000 km on the clock and less than 6 years) she was certain that she would be given an alternative car. To be precise the car is less than 2 years old and has about 33 000 km on the clock. To her surprise when her car was booked in she was told to walk or hike back to Idutywa at 4:30 pm with 2 minor children as the warranty does not oblige Nissan to get their clients alternative transportation when their trusted cars breakdown within the lifetime of the warranty. This cannot be right, the warranty is not worth the paper written on it if that is the case.

So much for good corporate citizenship and customer service.
