I bought a 2nd hand Nissan Xtrail from Nissan Woodmead in May 2012. In March 2013 my car gave mechanical problems. The local service centre saw signs that my car's engine has undergone major repairs with poor workmanship. The local Nissan dealership confirmed that Nissan's records show these repairs on their national system. Nissan Woodmead did not inform me about this when I specifically asked at the time I bought the car. In fact they told me that this car has undergone a 101 point check and I have nothing to be concerned about.
Nissan Woodmead now asked me to send them photos of effected engine parts including the catalytic converter. Their 'investigation' found that the converter 'shows signs of being blocked and collapsing' and this is the cause of mechanical problems. Though the local Nissan dealer could not find anything wrong with the converter after inspecting it.
Nissan Woodmead's sales manager then advised me to claim from the McCarthy warranty I bought from them with the car. Shocking to learn that their staff do not know that the warranty does not cover this or any of the effected parts. Yet they sell it to customers.
I can never trust McCarthy Nissan Woodmead again!
