I live in Durban and was in Gauteng for work and purchased a competition combo and entered the Dr. Dre beats competition at Sasol Bowling Avenue. On the 10th of May 2013 I received an sms stating that I was a winner and I should collect my prize from the garage in 10 working days. The SMS said for queries to sms 'please call me' to 33758. After doing this 4 times on different days I stil had no response from a sasol rep.
On 31 May 2013 I happened to be in Gauteng for work again and decided to visit the garage. I spoke to the attendant who refered me to the manager on duty. He acknowledged my 'winner sms' and even showed me the 3 boxes of Beats headphones in the store but he said that I could not claim my prize because sasol had not sent him the 'paper work'. After pleading with him he said there was nothing he could do about it and he would call me when he gets the paper work. Its now the 12th of June and I still have had no contact whatsoever with anyone from Sasol or the garage.
This incident has actually made me avoid visiting Sasol Service Stations for fuel or anything else for that matter.
Promotions should be fair and honest. This does not seem fair or honest to me.
