Imperial Car Sales
8 months - 5 times to the workshop!

On the 5th of December 2012 I purchased a TATA Indica Vista from TATA Pretoria North. Alda Venter undertook to have the following repaired as a condition of the sale: Gearbox; provide the service record, rust on the boot lid and inside of the car, rattle in the dashboard, column switch. I received my the vehicle back on 13 July 2013 after the 5th time I took it in. It was at the workshop / dealer since the 5th of May but the following is still a problem: gearbox, still no service record, rust inside doors, rattle in dashboard, column switch. I have had numerous communications with the dealer and head office. They claim that the workshop is the problem and they are doing internal investigations. On the 8th of March I submitted a formal letter to request cancellation of the transaction in terms of the National Consumer Commission of SA Automotive Industry Code Notice 113 of 2013 section 56. Imperial refused to abide by this guideline. I have referred the case to the Motor Industry Ombudsman on the 20th of April 2013 but have not had any feedback to date in spite of several written requests to the MIO for updates.
