The sales person at BMW dealer Hochland Auto sold me a BMW X5 with a trade-in of my current X5 (which I had bought from them). After a few days I then got a mail telling me that the car was "not allocated" to them. She had however already told me it was invoiced to them so this was clearly not true. The next excuse was that it was damaged in transit. I told them to get it repaired. I then spoke to the dealer principal, Jaco Odendaal who confirmed this story and promised to keep me updated on the progress. I found out 3 days later via another BMW dealer (after not once being called by Mr Odendaal) that they had sold the car to someone else. I had already filled in the BMW finance papers and also communicated to the dealer that if finance would not come through that I would pay cash - there was thus no risk in the transaction.
Mr Odendaal has not come back to me despite telling me he'd investigate. They have also offered no compensation except trying to sell me another X5, which was suddenly also "not allocated" to them. I am very disappointed in BMW and am considering leaving the brand after having owned 9 premium BMW's.
