I bought a vehicle (from ACT Motors - Link Hills Shopping Center - Waterfall KZN) that was allegedly road worthy and had a full service history. When I took delivery of the vehicle on the 15th March 2013, I spent the next two months trying to get the log book, licensing and registration, COR and service book from ACT Motors. Two months of telephone calls and SMS's, I am told the vehicle does not have a service book. I recived the log book and license documents on Tuesday 28th May 2013. When I collected the license disk from Motor Licensing Services, I noticed the COR test date was the 24th May 2013 (even though the vehicle was in my possesion since 15th March 2013). Further to that I discovered the COR test had taken place outside of KZN. Clearly this vehicle has been passed illegally. The vehicle is currently undergoing a service and cambelt change. Sadly the mechanic has found numerous faults that would not have passed COR testing. I am now left very disappointed and faced with significant financial burden getting this vehicle mechanically sound.
