Total disregard of customer booking - Europcar Pol

We had a booking with Europcar Poland. The booking was made using the Europcar website in South Africa. The booking reservation number was 959186118 for collection 05 May 2013 and return 25 May 2013. We received an email stating our reservation was acknowledged and if no response was received from Europcar to the contrary the booking was confirmed. When we arrived to collect the car nobody was in attendance at the Europcar depot in Krakow so we called the contact number on the office door. The person that answered acknowledged that the reservation number was on his system, but the booking was not confirmed and that there was no vehicle for us and he was unable (not prepared) to help us. We ended up turning to Avis who were able to provide us with a smaller car than the one we needed. but AVIS came to the rescue with in 30 minutes... Europcar just did not care, or offer any assistance. Right now our advice to anyone looking to book a car from Europcar in Poland is not do it, they don't care about customer service and have a total disregard for the people whose business provide them with a job. Avis on the other hand showed Europcar what service is, and on a Sunday as well. Appalled
