We purchased a Groupon voucher for Brazenhead in Fourways and took some guests on one of the stipulated nights, as per the voucher. The place looked dishevelled, no glasses on the table, sticky, grubby menus that we asked to be removed, serviettes had holes in them and were splotched with bleach. Their wine list is very, very poor and all four of our choices were out of stock. A bottle of sub-standard wine was then produced which was not warm, it was hot! By now our poor waitress was tearing her hair out at the incompetence of the establishment and most embarrassed.. We requested to see the owner. He did not appear, but the manager did, and advised that the owner 'was too busy' - how's that for attitude, arrogant or what. Manager smugly told us he had some chilled wine and produced something acceptable from a secret stash, this after an hour! He then offered us Irish whiskeys or Don Pedros on the house. In the meantime, our food had not arrived, we had placed our order an hour earlier. It finally arrived in dribs and drabs. The whole experience was appalling, the only person worth a positive mention was our waitress, but for the rest, a disgrace. Health department get there!
