I received a promotional sms from Scooters Pizza which angered me as I absolutely hate their rubbish pizzas. I called them up and asked to speak to the manager who I then forced to give me his source according to Section 45 (1)(b) of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act of 2002. He confessed that he got my details from the now closed Durbanville St Elmos.
While I've never had a problem with St Elmos food or service as it is always top notch, I am currently fuming at the fact that - presumably - the manager of the now closed Durbanville branch sold his clients' details to the Scooters Pizza branch in Durbanville without their consent! It is illegal and unethical and I would like to know who is responsible for this.
