I returned from vacation, landed in Durban and went to the Newscafe for lunch. I ordered chicken strips with barbeque sauce. Firstly, the meal came without any of the famed sauce and when I asked the waitress after trying to get her attention of over 5 minutes she did not come back until another 15 minutes had passed.By this time my chicken was completely cold and unappetising. The "barbeque sauce" turned out to be a concoction that the chef/cook decided to out together by mixing all the sauces in the restaurant - Tabasco, mayo, and knows what else and it tasted like vomit. I broke the chicken in half and it was pink and terribly undercooked - salmonella poisoning waiting to happen. The manager was apologetic but did not do anything about it except to say that they ran out of bbq sauce.
