On Friday 01 March I went to Nandos in Bedfordview around 7:30pm. Only one till was open and I was second in the queue. While waiting a white gentlemen joined the queue and was behind me. To my surprise a black lady went directly to assist him, passing me as if I didn't exist.
She asked how she could help him and offered to take his order. She went on to open another till and wanted to process the order. The guy was embarrassed and insisted I go first because I was first in the queue. I then confronted the lady and ask her why did she give the white guy special treatment? And expressed my discust at her behavior, I even called her manager who didn't seem to take my allegations seriously.
The white said he was a regular customer and that's why they wanted to give him special treatment.
Now, I find this extremely disturbing and I feel that my disunity and rights have been violated. It can't be that 20 years into democracy we still treated as second class citizens as if my money has less value.
I demand that disciplinary action be taken against Judith, I'm also a regular shopper at Nandos and will not be disrespected. I would like to get feedback on this matter.
