Socked at what staff are paid

I placed my order at scooters Hillcrest and came back some time later to pick up my order. I was busy on my Dictaphone and placed it on the counter, when paying for and collecting my order. I left it on the counter and only discovered that I had left it behind when the manager phoned me on my cell about ten minutes later.

He went the extra mile stating that he had a delivery to make and would drop off my "phone" on route so I did not have to make the trip back to the shop. Hats off to this young man - really pleasant and considerate.

BUT I had inadvertently left my Dictaphone on record, and overheard conversation between this manager and some of the other staff in Scooters. What Scooters pay these staff is shocking and should be reported to the labour department. Our casual domestic worker earns more, and I am sure that these are not casual staff. This Manager has been there for many months. Shame on the franchise for allowing and endorsing this shocking situation that I have learned " by accident". Seems like exploitation of workers when people are desperate for a job.
