Being a regular client of Spur Steak Ranches I am used to receiving good quality meat prepared as requested. After shopping around for a restaurant to have dinner and not being impressed with most of the restaurants in the town itself, it was decided to go with my favourite choice back home in Cape Town - the Spur Steak Ranch! Well needless to say the food turned out to be disgusting. The Sirloin steak ordered as medium turned out to be tough as leather, dry and tasteless and the rump ordered as medium to rare was medium, tough and tasteless. Obviously both meats were not properly matured and of inferior quality. Even the onion rings were over fried and tasteless. Only thing that could not be botched up was the baked potato.
When I reported my dissatisfaction to another person (not the waiter), the comment was: "sorry about that sir but I have no control over the meat we get". Obviously I will never return to that venue and I will tell all my friends and family not to waste their money on the garbage they dish up at Falcon Creek Spur.
