My boyfriend and I went to vangate mall, ocean basket. This is one place I will never ever go to again. We got there and upon us arriving there, probably 2min later still standing around waiting on someone to come and ask if we needed help or service, there was also 3 muslim ladies with a baby that came, they were helped by waiters immediately, yes I am not muslim, and I felt that was discriminating to me as a person in general. Not really my issue, but we were FINALLY offered a seat, ordering Sushi. I come from Mitchell's Plain, and being a regular there for take aways at Ocean basket, the standard of waitress, food and a manager being unconcerned, was everything I noticed. The place was empty, but our waitress was hanging onto the freezer, talking to the chef, which mean the Sous chef preparing our food, took longer to finish our meal, and when the meal FINALLY came, the quality was TOTALLY different to the Ocean basket in Promenade mall. The hand roll size was eatable but not enjoyable, the size, quality was so disappointing, from the salmon roses to the California rolls to the rainbow rolls. Sanwiches wasn't all the same size, and leaving there left me hungry still!!!
