I am out of town on work and need to go somewhere to eat lunch. I remember that Spur had an promotion "Lunchtime Challenge". A special smaller portioned menu that is promised to take only 15 minutes. Perfect for me to squeeze in between meetings I had set up. I quickly check on the spur website and the promotion is still advertised.
At 12:36 on 6 November I arrive at the Spur, they seat me. I requested that the waitress bring me the lunchtime menu that is on promotion. After she concurred with the floor manager she informs that "We don't do that special" but you can do the three course Christmas lunch promotion (for only R165). When I told her that the promotion is still active as per the Spur website she couldn't care less. As I would not want a waiter's revenge spit sandwich lunch I packed up and left without forcing the situation.
Obviously, apart from pathetic customer service, it is also in contravention of the CPA to not supplying offered goods at an offered price unless you are out of stock or the price advertised contains an obvious error.
With no more time left I had to settle for a Woolies sandwich from across the road.
