I have long been looking forward to going to the Chef and the Fat Man based on reviews. I decided that this would be the place to celebrate my birthday, I was deeply disappointed.
The seating environment was unpleasant as they have a bee problem, so it is necessary to have coffee burnt at the table to try and keep them away, glasses were broken due to fanning bees out the way.
We ordered starters of which one was a cheese focacia, by the time my guests were finished their starters my foccacia had not arrived, on enquiring we were told there was a problem in the pizza area. It eventually arrived an hour after ordering.
We then orderd mains, of which the chips with the T-bones were absolutely disgusting, it seemed as though they lay in oil for a long time or had been refried a number of times. The fillet stack was bland and unapealing.
On complaining we were told this is not normal and that they were very busy and their extractor fans in teh kitchen had broken down. This further suggest that there may be health problems due to poor ventilation and bad working conditions, maybe the health department should pay a visit.
We were offered a voucher to return but declined!
