We are avid supporters of Adega & often frequent the Adegas in JHB. We were in Nelspruit this past weekend to visit family & decided to take them out for a nice dinner, so we recommended Adega. We were so embarrassed by the shocking service...! 1. No one greeted us at the door; 2. We were told (AFTER placing our orders), that the prices on the menu are wrong as there has been a 7% increase & they are still waiting for new menus; 3. Our starters took an hour to get to us & when they came, we received starters for only half of the table - the other starters came 15mins later; 4. One of the starters was the garlic snails & there was easily over 250mls of garlic poured over - bit of an over kill; 5. One of the other starters was the chorizo, but too much alcohol was put on the dish so we could not blow out the flame & it charred the sausage; 6. Mains then took another half hour & again only half the table was served - plus, none of us had received new cutlery so we had to wait & our food got cold; 7. One of the main meals was the 1kg prawns, & we were ONLY served a HALF portion but had no time to fight & wait - plus the chips only came 10mins later & we weren't given any of the sauces
