We were on an university tour in Stellenbosch which meant that we had the opportunity to try out the local restaurants. True to form the Tuesday Pizza Special at the Dros was right up our alley. When we ordered drinks the waiter informed us that the Milo, Hot Chocolate and the Horlicks was out of stock, so we settled on juices. As soon as the time came for the food orders we were told that the special is not valid that day, because they were out of mozzarella cheese. A bit annoyed by then we decided that lasagne will have to do. The final straw was when the waiter came back to say that the pasta was finished too. Practically steaming by now we called the manager over. He was so annoyed by the fact that we decided to show him his faults that he shrugged us and our concerns off without as much as a sorry. His words in the line of "The stock is finished, there's not much I can do for you. Maybe you should order something else." The most embarrasing part was that a large group of Chinese tourists arrived and we knew that the image that they will take home to China is one of total incompetence with no pride in our work. Unacceptable!
