We visited the Ala Turka on New Years eve. It was our 2nd visit, the first one we were disappointed with as the service had been very slow, but we loved the food and therefore decided to give it another try. I booked a table over the phone and when I asked if there was entertainment, I was told there would be belly dancers. On new years eve, when we arrived we were shown to our table. Once seated, no one came to serve us, even though a few waitresses passed us. Eventually when we were considering leaving, finally a waitress asked if we'd been helped. The evening was very enjoyable after that, until the bill came. We were charged R30 per person for entertainment. That is absurd! I have never even heard of such a thing, and especially since we were never informed of the extra charge. We were not in the mood to argue, so just paid the bill and vowed to never return.
