My family frequents the Papachinos chain of restaurants often, particularly Crowthorne, Pineslopes and Morningside. We enjoy the atmosphere, food, choice of play areas and the child-friendly staff. We always watch our children and have never felt unsafe until yesterday, Sunday 4 August. We visited Papachinos Morningside for a late lunch and while my helper was on the playground watching my 1yr old in one of the cars, she overheard 2 of the playground staff members talking about how easy it would be for them to find a BUYER for my child because she was so pretty!!! The exact words of the staff member in a black t-shirt were: "You see this one is so pretty, I could find a buyer so easy - even a WHITE BUYER! " This has shocked us to the core. To think that so many people trust that they can let the restaurant childminders take their children off to the playground without having to worry! No parent is unaware of the fact that people come to South Africa to children and women
for human trafficking. What is most scary is that many Papachinos staff members are non-South Afticans and can
disappear without a trace, with your child and you would have no recourse. Be warned.
