I ordered 2 full chickens (1 hot & 1 extra hot, both with extra sauce, bcos the chicken from there is always dry)& 2 jumbo chips from Midway Mews Nando's on Saturday. When we got our order, both were extra hot. The cashier said they would rectify it. The manager came and told us that they use only 1 basting for all their chickens, regardless whether it was hot/extra hot. Because we asked for extra sauce, both would become extra hot. We've placed this same order many times at many Nando's outlets, and this is the first time we were told this. Anyway, we agreed that we would take 1 hot (without the extra sauce) and 1 extra hot. When we got the rectified order, the 'jumbo' chips were not even full. At R28, it's a total ripoff! We asked the manager about this, and he simply said 'that's the portion'.So we then had to order another portion of jumbo wedges, because both those jumbo chips would not have been enough for 6 people. On getting home, we found that both chickens were extremely dry, especially the hot. The hot one had no flavour or sauce at all. The extra hot was absolutely mild, and had a little sauce on it.
That Nando's meal was the worst we've ever eaten & it was so embarrassing as we had guests.
