A group of us went to Rhapsody's Bryanston last night to attend a birthday party. The restaurant was at most 40% occupied. After I spent about R250 on drinks at the bar, we went and sat at our table. A few of us did not intend on staying on for dinner, which we told the waiter. A few minutes later he came back to tell us that we either need to order food or we would have to pay R150 to sit there!!! This is disgusting to say the least. I would be able to understand such procedure if there were people lining up outside the door to get a table or if the restaurant was at least somewhat busy and they could not afford to lose any seats, and thus lose money. I will NEVER go back to Rhapsody's and will definitely recommend others to do the same.
