I had my husband's 30th Birthday party booked at Chilling Thyme Cafe, Cnr of Christiaan de Wet & Dolfyn street, Randpark Ridge, as we stay in Cape Town but orginate from Johannesburg we are flying up especially for the occasion.
Two days before the event I phone to ask if it will be possible to have the restaurant to ourselves for the evening as it is a smallish restaurant. With that Maria lets me know that there is actually 2 parties booked for the evening and that no sorry you can no longer bring your own DJ with Karaoke system as this is the theme of the evening. After loads of communication where this was confirmed by Chilling Thyme before the event.
You cant change plans and promises 2 days before an event especially if you know they don't even stay in the province. I now have 40 guests and no place to have a party thanks to Chilling Thyme Cafe. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants, I will never set foot there again, I will escalate my complaint to Facebook and other social media sites, this is totally ridiculous!!!
