I am utterly disgusted at the way FNB has conducted their business. On Friday, 19 April 2013, I received a call from a consultant from FNB advising me that my home loan account is in arrears for R2300. He further informed me that FNB will be auctioning my property for the arrears amount. I informed the consultant that there is no way FNB can auction my property for such an amount and with no written notification/legal documents sent to me. The consultant informed me that FNB will be proceed with the auction. That afternoon, a man arrived at my home and advised my wife that he has just bought our house. This was shocking news for my family and I. The man advised that our house was auctioned and he has purchased the house. On Saturday morning, I paid the arrears amount of R2300. Yesterday, I went to FNB Home Loans in Fairlands, I spoke to the legal rep from FNB and she informed me that my house has been sold and the proceedings for the sale has begun. She informed me that the sale cannot be overturned. To date I have not received any legal documents or summons from FNB for this. If FNB is the world's most innovative Bank, is this an innovative way of taking away a family's home?
