Closing Adderley St branch in my opinion was undertaken without client consultation or consideration to local businesses. My business banker neglected to inform me of my new branch location/branch code? SB's satellite branch in Long St is ill equipped to service peak volumes, queues wind upon themselves, clients enter the revolving doors are obstructed by a mob, queue jumping is ubiquitous while thousands of man hours are lost to local businesses annually. My complaint to the branch manager was re-directed to Tyger Valley liaison for regional branches. I received a call which lacked intent or commitment. I insisted on confirmation in writing of our telecon, it failed to materialise. Further my two business accounts were inadvertently frozen in error, due to inability of Standard Banks bureaucratic management, completely out of touch with it's clients. We are expected to pay two monthly fees to SB namely "service fee" and "monthly management fee! " Multiply this by the number of accounts held, it is an inept situation. I encourage private clients of SB to move their accounts. Senior directors are ultimately responsible/unaccountable while clients are stymied in call centres
