Standard Bank
Unnecessary legal action for an up to date account

I had a loan with Standard Bank that went into arrears, because I did not work for 5 months. I still continued to pay my account although a little late every month. Round about the time I started working again, Standard Bank then cancelled my debit order (payment instruction) which resulted in my account falling further into arrears. Everytime they phoned requested them to load the debit order, but it took them 4 months to do.

In December I received a call from their attorneys saying my account was handed over. In January I paid all the arrears, but Standard Bank is still pursuing their legal action. This is a disgrace!! Don't you have any empathy. I lodged a complaint in January sometime and on 30 January 2013 Thina Vhulahani told me that my account is still in arrears and i must just continue paying the attorneys after my account should have reflected as up to date.

I've never heard of such attitude in my life and I worked in a bank myself dealing with arrears. Standard Bank is acting worse than loan as far as I'm concerned. I will never ever in my life do business with Standard Bank again and would not advise anyone to bank there if this is the tactics they use.
