I was retrenched at the end of January. I am having major problems with my pension benefit refunds from ABSA Bank Head Office. It is now ten weeks and is still waiting for the refunds. Firstly, I was informed that my directive was declined by SARS and I went back and forward to SARS and finally the problem was resolved. I do have the contact details of the persons who is handling my pension benefit funds and it is a major problem just to get hold of them, their telephones always goes onto voice mail and you are very lucky when you do get hold of them. I contacted the Admin Manager today and his assistant answered the phone and was informed that the persons who is dealing with my pension benefit funds, that the one resigned at the end of March and the other one is off sick since Tuesday, she is under a lot of stress? I told the assistant that I would like my pension benefit refunds. She said the Manager is in a meeting and will give him my message. It means if they are off sick no one is doing the work and I must just wait and this is unacceptable to me!
