On easter Saturday, my husbands card was swallowed by an ATM, and the card was cancelled. To date, this means 10 days without access to his money... As standard Bank is the only Bank in the Country, and arguably the WORLD, that links internet banking profiles to card numbers and not to actual profiles, this means that we also cannot access his account electronically. What if we were a single income household?? Can you survive almost two weeks without a cent??? So last week after spending hours in the queue to collect MY new card (As two of the three consultants at riversquare branch decided the queue strectching into the parking lot could wait for them to take lunch at the busiest time of day) I asked about my husbands card. They said Wdnesday (Today). So, since I actually have to be at work to stay employed, I phone the call centre to enquire about the card's whereabouts. After being cut off twice and holding for ten minutes the third time (Over thirty minutes in total) No-one could reach the branch. Can Standard Bank please tell me where the card is???
