One of the reasons I switched to FNB is for their so called passport to purchase service, where they can give you a letter upfront stating the home loan amount you qualify for. I was told by an estate agent to get the passport to purchase letter as it will increase the possibility of the seller accepting my offer to purchase.
I went to the FNB branch in Westgate. The first consultant did not know what it is and sent me to another consultant. After waiting for an hour, she told me FNB does not have such a service. She called the home loan call centre and the lady told me over the phone there is no such thing.
No one in store could tell me what loan amount I qualify for, and she then told me to use the online calculator. Thanks for the assistance.
Why is it on FNB's website, and why does the estate agents know about it and why doesn't FNB staff know about it?
If I click on the home loan tab, then more the following shows under the Start the paperwork heading: Provide us with the valid Passport to Purchase as well as the Offer to Purchase and we will process your application.
So how can I start the paper work if I can't get the passport to purchase document?
