I had R11000 withdrawn from my account 2 years ago. It started off with a R5000 max deposit after which I blocked my card. I then had another R5000 the next day. The explanation I got from the bank was that they had blocked the wrong card. Yesterday my card was swallowed by a Standard Bank ATM because I could not physically retrieve my card, the ATM was mechanically faulty. I phoned in to block my card and the consultant ackonwledged that it was sorted. When i then phoned in to reverse the ATM transaction 30 minutes later, the consultant asked me if I would like to BLOCK my card ot not. I was startled because I had already "blocked" it. It turns out that they blocked the WRONG card as I had a previous card linked to the account. This is after I specifically phoned the Prestige banking division.

I spoke to a supervisor who could only apologise but after these 2 incidents I have decided to move to FNB. I currently do not have a bank card because my passport is at the UK embassy and will have to wait for my visa to come out first before I have access to any funds.

Wil be going in to close both my personal and banking account.
