Who must carry costs for false info?

I am very happy that I've moved to FNB. I was told that my acc debit orders will take atleast 6 weeks to transfer. Happy with that, i left it in their hands. But around the 20th of Feb 2013, i get a call from FNB informing me that they have problems switching my sanlam policy. I get on the phone and change details from my side. I confirm with the lady that ALL my debit orders will go off my FNB account end Feb. Few days later, i get another call from gent at FNB about my sanlam. I tell him I've changed details with sanlam myself and confirmed again that all debit orders were now changed. Happy with the progress i leave it at that, till debit orders start going off my previous account, and get charged R90 per unpaid item on my savings and R120 on my cheque account. Who should be held accountable for these charges since 4 debit orders went off my previous account? Very happy with FNB, if someone could please just clarify.
