Outsurance advertise that if they cant beat your current car insurance quote they will give you R400. I was looking to change my provider so gave Outsurance a call.
I asked about the R400 offer I had heard advertised and mentioned that i don't have a SA ID but could I use my passport number. They told me I don't qualify for the cashback offer as I don't have an ID and they couldn't do a credit check on me. If they are paying me why would they need to do a credit check??? BUT here is the interesting thing, if i wanted a policy with them whereby I was paying them monthly they could definitely give me a quote and wouldn't need to do a credit check. Surely I am more of a credit risk if I am paying them. Its an absolute joke. I have been in this country over 6 years, have 2 bank accounts, do a SARS return every year and pay tax.
