I had a situation where my home was broken into on the 25th Feb 2013 and when I called to register my claim, i was told that my home was only covered for fire and storm and this came as a huge surprise to me. I only took this insurance in January 2013 because my home was burgled twice before and I wasn't covered at these times and of course, this was a huge loss. Anyway, the very next day, I got a call from Kaylin saying that he needed to meet with us to discuss the incident and all our losses. He met with us and very patiently explained step by step the details of the entire claim process and gave us clarity on some of the things that we didn't understand. I really didn't think that we were going to be paid for this claim because of the error in the type of cover and also our policy was fairly new. Two weeks later, Kaylin called to inform me that they were giving me the benefit and were paying this claim even though we had the error of the incorrect cover type. He then edited my policy accordingly. You often hear that insurance companies try to find loopholes in the policies so that they don't have to pay the claim, but in this instance they actually worked to my benefit.
