A student loan was taken over 6 years ago. Not once did i have anyone call me or send me a letter of demand. Now 7 years later - I was called by a collection agent from Strauss Attorneys requesting I make immediate payment otherwise legal action will be taken, I asked the caller (Michelle) why wasnt a demand made / S129 Letter, and has the debt been ceded to Strauss Attorneys, she said she has no idea and she will have Standard Bank contact me directly. She had my cell number and email on her system, meaning the matter was handed over with all my recent information. Standard Bank never ever called me or send me any demands, I have never even made any arrangements.
Please can I have an explaination.
