Flawed Homeloan Process

I applied for a jumpstart homeloan (ref 4332717) 14 days ago, submitting all the relevant documentation. I passed the pre-screening for the amount I requested (R655 000). I didn't trust this pre-screening, so I called in everyday for 14 days, trying to ascertain if i qualify for the full amount and/or the status of my app. Nobody could tell me anything, I kept being told that "it had been routed yet". I then find out I dont qualify for the Jumpstart 100% bond 3 days before my OTP expires. So I call in and an agent tells me he will send it to the amendments department. After this I have no feedback whatsoever, until I call in and told that amendments has completed and I still dont qualify for the full amount, and this is the last day of my OTP. Why did the entire process go through if I didnt qualify for the product and the amount i applied for? Why couldn't I be notified earlier, as being a loyal client for over 10 years, I wanted to keep the bond with "my" bank, and therefore haven't applied anywhere else. I feel cheated by Standard Bank, not because I didn't get the loan I need, but because they created an expectation without letting me know earlier. I might lose this house now
