Prefer the Business to pass

I applied for a home and it was declined because my wife is self Employed and Affordability.
Standard Bank penalises you for being self employed and says "they prefer the business to pass".
First they give me a useless excuse like they did not get the documentation then they say we do not qualify for a bond. They cannot tell me what bond I qualify for. So I must look for another house and then try again.
They then tell me that I must go and motivate my bond application at the bank. Then tell me that there is nothing I can do to motivate the bond.
I would have gone all the way to the bank and tried to motivate the bond and it still would not have made a difference.

I think I should "Move Forward" and find another bank.
