On Saturday 23rd Feb, I opened an additional account off my online banking for a family member that had recently become disabled. This account was for the donations that people were giving us to help look after this family member. I wanted to keep this many separate from our money, as this was for use for hospital bills etc, and not for our personal use.
Once I opened this account, it told me I was now able to use it, so I forwarded the details to those who wanted to pay into it. I had people pay into it, and then needed to pay for something out of this same account her. It told me that I could not debit this account. I phoned FNB today, for 45 mins, got put through to 5 different people, every one of them telling me the next person will take the block off. When I got to the 5th person, I started to get annoyed. He then told me that he cannot take the block off my account because they do not have a copy of y ID or a proof of residential address. Firstly, I had the same excuse 2 years ago, so I went into the bank and gave them new copies, secondly, if they didn't have it, how would they have opened the account?
I now can't pay the bills I need to and will be charged extra!
