My wife and I applied for a home loan through Betterbond on 23 Jan '13. We made it known to our broker that the application was a matter of some urgency as I work outside South Africa and am due to fly out in the middle of Feb again. After initially accepting all our paperwork and assuring us that we would have an answer from them within 5 working days, I departed from Bloem to Pretoria to attend some courses scheduled for the following week. On 30 Jan, the broker contacted my wife and requested that she get new bank statements as the ones provided were not accepted by the banks and to fax the new statements to her. This was done. On 1 Feb, we were again contacted, this time for my IT34 which we supplied and again brought to the broker's attention that I am due to leave the country shortly. On 6 Feb, my IT34 for 2011 was requested which I supplied and again brought to the broker's attention that I am leaving shortly. After daily messages informing me that Nedbank is busy, my wifes paysheets (which were supplied) were requested today. I leave on Sunday so I guess I will not be getting my home loan after all, thank you for pathetic service.
