I am administering an estate and opened an executor's account.
On 21 January 2014 I went to the branch on the corner of Harrison and Fox streets in JHB and instructed the consultant to close the account. There was a debit balance of R2.64 that would be written off. (The only reason there was this balance was because a service fee was levied which wasn't reflected in the 2013 pricing guide I was given - another issue but one I was willing to overlook).
I asked for, and was given, a copy of the instruction printout (Account Closure - Customer Notification / Departmental Advice).
But when I received the account statement today (which I hoped would be the last one reflecting a zero balance and the account being closed) I learnt that the account was in fact not closed and that another service fee was levied.
This is unacceptable - I want these fees reversed and the account closed.
