My vehicle was damaged by hail last year so I put in a claim for repairs to Aquarius Underwriting Managers. I went to 3 panelbeaters all of whom told me the bonnet can't be repaired and needs replacing. I agreed with the assessor that there was some pre existing damage so I would pay a betterment fee.
My cheapest quote is for R13K, AUM has agreed to pay R2400 (before excess) as they say the bonnet doesn't need replacement only repairs. I have made several enquiries as to where I can get the bonnet repaired and all they have done is directed me to the panelbeaters who say it can't be repaired.
To sum up:
-AUM has gone against the recommendations of 3 qualified panelbeaters
-They keep telling me the bonnet can be repaired but cannot answer the simple question of who can repair it?
-I have sent emails to Trudy which she just ignores and does not reply to.
-The CEO Drew has promised on Facebook to look into it and contact me, but no communication has been forthcoming.
-They have offered to waive the betterment fee for repair but there is NO betterment if repair is done
Be careful here people, they'll you when you try and claim.
