My mother's account was handed over to the lawyers PHATSHOANE HENNEY INC who applied for a salary deduction R500, R800 and R300 from her employer Department of Education -EC, this started way back in July 2000 (at that stage there were 3 loans to be repaid). The 2 other loans were paid in full with only 1 remaining -R500 salary dedection plus the bank debit order of R400. In November my mother was contacted by Vertec Collections about the same account saying that her account was handed over to them with a balance of R23k an amount more than the R17k balance reflected on the bank statement dated 27 Jan 2014. At the same time this week my mother went to the department to enquire about the salary deductions and she was given a letter dated 11 Dec 2013 from PHATSHOANE HENNEY INC . These attorney's were instructing the department to stop the deductions since the account has been paid in full. my mother and i need answers
we have contacted the bank and spoken to call centre agents and team leaders including Ronel Fober and at Vertex we spoke to Patricia Kutumela
