My Name is Peter Tsietsi Lengolo and I had a bond; Account Number 55439524; with Absa bank. As per my full knowledge, this bond was settled and closed in February 2004 when i retired from the Government Service as School Head Master.
In recent days i have been receiving statements and calls from Absa representatives telling me that I have an outstanding balance of -R11000 on my bond which I feel is incorrect as I had given the bank an instruction to settle and close the account in February 2004.
I do not understand where this R11000 debt comes from and now absa is pinning this debt on me which according to my knowledge i have settled.
No one at absa is able to explain how this R11000 has been incurred.
Hello Peter please assist me in getting to the bottom of this issue as I am a pensioner and won't take the blame for the bank's irresponsibility. All along they have been quite for 10 years without sending a single statement. now 10 years later my account is in the red with R11000.
Please assist.
