After being on Debt Review for years without missing a single payment, I decided to start paying my Accounts personally again as the Debt Counsellors repeated mistakes were costing me a lot of money. Two years before this event they stopped paying one of my Absa Accounts before it were settled in full. After I intervened they started paying again but at a much lower instalment. They then increased the amount gradually until at the end they were paying in the region of R800.00 a month, up until today I never had any queries regarding this.
About 6 Months after I started paying Accounts myself I received a letter from Absa stating that this Account has been handed over because of incorrect payments made on it. I paid between R800.00 and R1000.00 monthly. This is my last Account not paid in full, and after I have paid hundreds of thousands of Rand's to all my debtors, of which two paid-up Accounts were also from Absa. Besides my Bond, my total Debt at the moment is the /- R10, 000.00 which is the balance on this Absa Account. I find it extremely petty from an institution such as Absa to ensure that I now pay legal fees as well, after all that I went through this last 5 years
