I received 2 emails this morning from cell c stating that i had placed 2 orders for 2 cellphone contracts for the amount of roughly R1000 per month. All details on the order form are correct except for the cellphone number and delivery address. The order states my ID number, home address and work telephone details.
I called cell c to find out what the is going on as i did not place this order. Order was then cancelled by cell c and i was informed that the order was placed through FNB's cellphone sales department. I called FNB and this was verified and i was told that my cellphone number should have been verified before the order was placed.
I understand that this order was placed by someone (I will be opening up a case against them) BUT my cellphone number is registered with mobile banking so how the is it not possible to verify if this person was really me or not?? This is shocking and although it is the first time i have had a problem with FNB, it is a very serious matter and i will be reconsidering using FNB to to manage my money!
