Since 2012 NSFAS has said that they will be updating their systems. The last statement I received was in January 2013 and I have since not received any correspondence from them. I have a debit order for payment which goes through every month but I'm not sure if they are even aware of my payments because their "new" system does not work. Basically since 2012 it has not been possible to access your account details. I have called their call centre a few times in 2013 but could not get through. On the recorded message it says to send them an email - which I have done but have not received any response. i called their call centre today and was told that due to their system not working, they are unable to tell me how much I still owe and are unable to send me a statement. Basically they do not know what I owe them and so I do not know what I owe them. I was told that their IT guys are working hard to fix this. Since 2012... I don't even know if they have any record of the mayments I have made and I'm sure they have been adding interest onto my debt every month. Something needs to be done about this!
