Srewing people that can least afford it

After over 20 years of loyalty to Wesbank, I was paid late by my employer this month and as a result the usual monthly debit order was not met. I received no call from Wesbank but 17 days later, an sms informing me that not only must I pay what is due (obviously) but also a penalty amounting to an additional 28.5% interest on my usual premium. To make matters worse, this is not the end of the story as I also have to pay an additional penalty of R223.40 on the next debit because of the late payment. The total cost of that missed debit order amounts to an effective penalty of 38.5% of my usual premium.

Is this how Wesbank makes its money nowadays? How disgusting and disappointing - never will you have my business or that of my family again.
