My home was invaded by gun wielding thugs yesterday. They forced the gate off its rails, broke the motor then smashed open the front door. They found my domestic worker and held her at gunpoint while they items from the house. My physical house is covered by SA Homeloans insurance. I called the claim centre at 16H15 and lodge the claim. I stressed several times that I could not close my gate or front door and was assured that someone would be dispatched immediately.By 22h00 there was still nobody to attend to repairs. I received sms notification of the claim and messages with names of contractors that would come assist but no contact numbers. I eventually called someone to help get the gate to close and we barricaded the front door with furniture. My wife and children were terrified all night. This morning I call SA Homeloans insurance and they tell me I must call back Monday. I explained to three different people in the customer care centre and the claims 24 hr hotline that I can't secure my house and all three tell me they can't do anything as a claim is already lodged - call back Monday, I asked for a manager and was told there is no management until Monday
